Summer Exploration Program in the Athabasca Basin Mobilized
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mr. Dale W. Hoffman, President of JNR Resources Inc. (the "Company"), is pleased to report that mobilization is in progress for the summer exploration program in the Athabasca Basin, Northern Mining District, Saskatchewan.
The focus over the summer field season will be on the Russell Lake and West Bear Properties. Data compilation will continue on the Poplar Point, Moore Lake and Midwest Properties, where 1998 boulder sample results proved encouraging.
Russell Lake (formerly known as the "Key Lake" project)
This high priority target is located approximately 30 km NE of the Key Lake mine. An exploration field camp has been established on the property and line-cutters have commenced cutting a reconnaissance ground geophysical grid covering a 5 km x 5 km area. This area encompasses a uranium anomaly defined by sandstone boulder sampling which overlies a basement structure interpreted from aeromagnetics. Previous drilling on this structure returned up to 1.04% uranium over 4.2 meters on adjacent ground held by Cameco. A 20 line-kilometer pole-dipole resistivity survey will be completed to map alteration in the Athabasca Sandstone above the structure. Drill targets identified by this survey will be tested in July.
West Bear
A review of the company's GEOTEM survey data and of historic open file assessment reports is nearing completion. Three high-priority targets have been defined for follow-up fieldwork commencing in early July.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
