Drilling Update
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dale W. Hoffman, President of JNR Resources Inc., is pleased to report that a diamond drilling program is underway on the JNR Resources Inc. / Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc. Joint Venture Moore Lake project. The program will consist of a minimum of three holes (1000 m), and will focus on an interpreted fold closure in the southwest corner of the property, where recently completed geophysical surveys indicate the presence of well defined and untested basement conductors. The geological environment in this area is analogous to that at the nearby Key Lake mine. Prior drilling on the Moore Lake property intersected intense alteration of both the sandstone and basement rocks from a number of holes, including weak uranium mineralization (up to 3070 ppm).
Drilling of lake targets on the alliance's Cigar North project was suspended after the completion of two holes (BL-01 and BL-02) because of poor ice conditions. Initially up to six holes had been planned for the Bell Lake and La Rocque South areas. BL-01 was drilled to a depth of 365.2 m and intersected a moderately altered locally fractured sandstone column, above a mixed pelite and intrusive basement, which was faulted over a width of 18.5 m. BL-02 was drilled to a depth of 356.6 m, and intersected a moderately to strongly altered commonly fractured / sheared sandstone column, above a faulted granitic basement. Although no uranium mineralization was intersected in either hole, samples have been sent to the Saskatchewan Research Council where they will be analyzed for not only uranium, but specific trace elements referred to as 'pathfinder' elements. These 'pathfinders' are used in determining proximity to an orebody. On the basis of these results, follow up programs will be planned. The Bell Lake and La Rocque South claims adjoin Cameco's La Rocque Lake property, from which intersections of up to 31.9 % U3O8 / 7.0 m have been reported.
Data compilation on the alliance's Lazy Edward Bay project, which is located along the southern margin of the Athabasca Basin west of the Key Lake mine, is nearing completion. The summer / fall program which includes ground geophysical surveys and, if warranted, diamond drilling, will be reviewed at the next Joint Venture meeting.
