Explor Resources Inc.: Exploration Update
09:30 EST Friday, March 18, 2005
LA RONGE, SASKATCHEWAN--(CCNMatthews - March 18, 2005) - Explor Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:EXS)
Exploration programs consisting of establishing grid lines, conducting magnetic surveys and geochemical basal till sampling are being conducted on three of the Corporations 100% owned properties.
On the Devils Lake Property, a re-orientated grid is being cut to evaluate geophysical and geological targets, which are orientated in a northerly direction, crosscut previous exploration on the property. The newly discovered 'Bingo gold deposit' is situated in North-Northwest trending shears on Golden Band Resources Inc. (TSX-V: GBN) Property, 2 km to the north.
Previous trenching and diamond drilling (24 holes) at Devil's Lake discovered anomalous gold at the PIT and SW-2 showing. Over 10 occurrences of visible gold were noted. The best intersections where, Hole 96-19 at the SW Zone which intersected 15.0 g/T Au over 2 metres (0.44 oz/t over 6.6') and Hole 96-07at the Pit Zone which intersected 15.6 g/T Au over 0.4 m (0.46 oz/t over 1.3').
A program to establish control and locate the previous trenching on the Nistoassini Lake Property is underway. Previous drilling in H-1 intersected 2.79% Cu, 1.5 g/T Au & 6.8 g/T Ag over 7.4 m (24.2'). The geological setting is similar to the quartz veining system on the Wedge Lake T-6 zone, situated on the Corporations property, 3 kilometres to the southeast.
Anomalous gold within sedimentary rocks of the Mclean Belt has been evaluated in the past by Cogema, on the Scriver Lake Project, where trenching and drilling (HOR-1) intersected 3.7 g/T Au over 3.0 m (0.11 oz/t over 9.8'). A geochemical sampling program to test the areas where the sediments are folded is proposed.
Geologist, Dr. Andrew Gracie, P.Geo, with experience accumulated over 40 years in the geology and exploration of the La Ronge gold belt, is the qualified person on this project (as defined by National Instrument 43-101).
