Explor Resources Inc.: Geophysical Program Completed Eastford Lake Gold Property
09:00 EDT Tuesday, April 04, 2006
LA RONGE, SASKATCHEWAN--(CCNMatthews - April 4, 2006) - Explor Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:EXS): Management is pleased to announce that 60 km of ground magnetic and VLF-EM surveys have been completed on the Eastford Lake Gold Property. The property is situated in the Kerrs, Warden, Milligan Townships and the Rayner Lake area, south-east and near Lake Abitibi, Ontario in the Timmins-Porcupine mining camp.
The Eastford Property consists of 137 contiguous unpatented mining units for a total of 2,200 hectares. The property is accessed via a 16 kilometre all weather road from highway 101 to the south of the property.
The property is contiguous with SAGE Gold Inc. property, where they reported a newly identified high grade gold zone (See SAGE Gold Inc. November 08, 2005, January 23, 2006) SAGE has reported 7.36 g/t over 7.43 meters in a green carbonate quartz breccia. Of significance was the 37 meter thick mafic flow replacement zone intersected in Hole K-05-07 which reported up to 5.73 g/tonne over 3.3 meters.
The geophysical surveys have identified a major fault-like structure running east-northeast through the central part of the property. The fault is coincident with the northern, or "up-ice" cut-off of a large gold in soil geochemical anomaly. It is also marked by a linear mercury soil anomaly. Six drill targets have been identified along the fault as potential bedrock sources for the gold in soil anomaly and the gold/quartz boulders previously discovered.
Fragile, friable carbonatized quartz porphyry float and fuchsitic altered ultramafic float occur within the north-west end of the gold/quartz boulder train lending support to a relatively proximal bedrock source. Diamond drilling is planned to test the interpreted bedrock source of the detrital gold, which has never been drill tested.
