Claimstaker Resources: Exploration Drilling at Blackdome
Gold Mine
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--The management of Claimstaker
Resources Ltd. (VSE symbol: CLN) wishes to announce the
commencement of an exploration diamond drilling program at the
Blackdome Gold Mine. The drilling program will concentrate on the
exploration of the No.11 vein below the 1870-meter level. Recent
drifting on the 1870 level has developed a new ore shoot with a
length of 59.6 meters (196 feet) grading 14.3 grams per metric ton
(0.42 opt) over a width of 1.5 meters (4.9 feet). Almost no
information exists in this area to indicate the extent of this new
orebody and a new ramp has been collared to facilitate development
of this ore below the level. This ore is currently being mined
above the 1870 level, and the new drilling program is designed to
test its down-dip/down-plunge projection.
Previous surface samples which indicated values as high as 151
grams per metric ton (4.40 opt) over 0.9 meters (2.9 feet), and
previous surface drilling, in the same area, which had
intersections as high grade as 18.0 grams per metric ton (0.52
opt) over 1.9 meters (6.2 feet), strongly suggest the possibility
of a second new ore zone on the No.11 vein. This target will also
be explored by this diamond-drilling program, which is expected to
commence within a week.
The Blackdome Gold Mine is a 50-50 joint venture between
Claimstaker Resources Ltd. and Jipangu Inc. of Tokyo of which
Claimstaker is operator.
On behalf of the Board of Directors,
R. Somerville, President and CEO
