Claimstaker Resources: Golden Trend, Nevada Drilling
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--The Board of Directors of Claimstaker
Resources Ltd. (VSE symbol: CLN) announces that six reverse
circulation drill holes totalling 2,020 feet have been drilled on
our Golden Trend Property in Nevada to test surface gold-arsenic
geochemical/geophysical targets. This preliminary program has
resulted in the discovery in one area of a strongly mineralized,
silicified and altered porphyritic intrusive system. The pyrite
mineralization and very strong arsenic geochemical signature (up
to 3,000 parts per million arsenic) coupled with geochemically
anomalous gold, appear to be related to the strongly altered
intrusive. Also, early indications suggest that this gold-arsenic
system is spatially related to a splay off the Cortez Fault that
was encountered in one of the drill holes. The Cortez Fault has
been a prominent structural feature in major ore discoveries along
the Battle Mountain-Cortez gold trend.
In preparation for the next phase of drilling, Claimstaker's
geological staff have decided that this strongly mineralized area
will be geo-physically surveyed using IP equipment to further
define the targets. Company management is extremely encouraged by
these preliminary results of our exploration program.
Golden Trend is a 50-50 joint venture between Claimstaker and
Jipangu Inc. of Tokyo, Jipangu is financing the exploration
program.
On behalf of the Board of Directors,
Richard Somerville, President and CEO
