Claimstaker Resources Ltd. Announces New Director and
Vice President
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--The Board of Directors of Claimstaker
Resources Ltd. (CDNX symbol: CLN) announces the resignation of Mr.
Tamisuke Matsufuji of Tokyo as Chairman of the Board and a
Director of the Company. Regretfully, Mr. Matsufuji finds that,
owing to pressure of business in Jipangu Inc. and his other
companies in Japan, he is unable to function effectively on our
board. As a significant shareholder in Claimstaker Resources Ltd.
Jipangu will continue to support the Company in its endeavours.
At a meeting of the Board of Directors on January 31, 2000, Mr.
Nicholas Ferris of Vancouver was elected as a director of
Claimstaker and appointed Vice President of the Company. Mr.
Ferris has an extensive background in economics and finance at
senior managerial levels with Lloyds Bank Canada, and, most
recently, Canadian Home Income Plan. His experience in corporate
banking and marketing will be especially valuable to Claimstaker.
The Company has also granted non-assignable, non-transferable
incentive stock options in respect to a total of 250,000 shares in
the Company to an officer and director. The options are
exercisable at $0.20 for a period of two years.
