Claimstaker Resources Ltd. Announces Changes in Corporate
Structure
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--The Board of Directors of Claimstaker
Resources Ltd. (CDNX symbol: CLN) announces that, as part of a
corporate restructuring, effective March 1, 2000, Mr. Richard
Somerville has resigned his position as President and CEO. Mr.
Somerville will continue to sit on the Board of Directors and will
act as Managing Director, with special responsibility to manage
the acquisition of new mineral properties and the continuing
exploration and development of Claimstaker's existing properties.
The Board is pleased to announce that Mr. Nicholas Ferris,
currently a director of the Company, has accepted the position of
President and CEO of the Company. Mr. Ferris, an economist, with
his years of experience as a banker and financial trader, brings
to the management of the company financial and administrative
expertise.
The Board of Directors feels that these changes in the structure
of Claimstaker's management will provide Claimstaker with a strong
team, able to react swiftly to the rising gold market, and to take
advantage of new opportunities for financing that will accompany
this stage of the gold cycle.
