Forest Gate Identifies 13 Anomalies Southeast of Prince Albert

MONTREAL, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - Forest Gate Resources Inc. reports that it has identified at least 13 distinct geophysical anomalies on its wholly-owned South Side property located near Melfort, about 100 kilometres southeast of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
The South Side property consists of a group of mineral claims with a total area of about 52,000 hectares located south of the Saskatchewan River and the company considers that it may host an extension of the Fort à la Corne kimberlite field.
"We have electromagnetic anomalies that are compelling enough to warrant further exploration." said Steve Roebuck, Forest Gate's Vice President of Exploration. "The size of the anomalies is such that follow-up geophysics is probably not needed. I think we can go directly to the drilling phase of exploration."
"Back in April we flew test lines over the 140/141 and Star kimberlite bodies so we knew what the geophysical signatures of the big pipes looked like. We then applied that knowledge to the process of target selection for the South Side property. It was critical for us to understand the unique geophysical properties of the Star kimberlite. The Star pipe is ambiguous as a magnetic anomaly but recognizable in the electromagnetic spectrum. So that is our quarry, we are hunting a large, yet subtle geophysical anomaly," said Roebuck.
In January of 2005, Forest Gate staked 42,000 hectares of land in the belief that kimberlite intrusions could potentially continue along a southeastern trend. A subsequent airborne geophysical survey conducted in April 2005 highlighted electromagnetic anomalies both within and outside the South Side property. In September of 2005, Forest Gate staked an additional 10,000 hectares to cover all of the identified anomalies.
The Fort à la Corne kimberlite field is the largest of its kind in the world and is the subject of several advanced exploration programs and a pre-feasibility scoping study for possible diamond mine development.
Forest Gate Resources has recently completed its 2005 exploration drill program on its wholly owned East Side Property. In total, over 3500 metres of HQ size core was drilled on three different kimberlite bodies. Samples from the 121, Duke and Dizzy kimberlite bodies were tested for microdiamonds and results are pending.
