Forest Gate Announces Initial Microdiamond Results For Dizzy (cnw)
MONTREAL, Oct. 21 /CNW/ - Forest Gate Resources Inc. announces the first batch of microdiamond results for two of five drill holes targeted on its Dizzy kimberlite pipe. The Dizzy kimberlite is located on the company's wholly- owned East Side property located near Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
A total of 28 microdiamonds, plus one macrodiamond (two dimensions greater than 0.5mm), were recovered from two HQ sized drill holes that tested the Dizzy kimberlite on a facies by facies basis.
"By sampling all the kimberlite facies we have created a baseline of information" said Steve Roebuck, Forest Gate's Vice President of Exploration. "We have identified the key kimberlite units that are the most prospective in terms of higher microdiamond counts. It's important to know what type of kimberlite is fertile and equally important to find out what kimberlite is not."
Fourteen of the 29 stones, including the macrodiamond, came from a single 110 kilogram sample of indicator-mineral-rich kimberlite breccia found in drill hole FG05-14. The largest stone was found on the +0.425mm sieve screen and measured 0.91mm by 0.48mm by 0.53mm in size. The second batch of microdiamond results from the other three HQ-sized drill holes are pending.
"The size of the sample might be misleading in some ways." said Roebuck "We were testing the diamond potential of all the kimberlite facies, not just what looked good." A total of 779.15 kilograms of kimberlite was analyzed for microdiamonds by SGS Lakefield Research Limited of Lakefield, Ontario. The drill holes, FG05-14 & FG05-16, were drilled near the center of the pipe and had total kimberlite intercepts of 118.21m and 112.96 m respectively.

In other news, the company announces the results for holes FG05-23 & FG05-24 also drilled on the East Side Property. The two holes were collared about 700 metres north of the Dizzy kimberlite to test drill targets. Kimberlite was not intersected in either hole.
Forest Gate Resources recently completed its 2005 exploration drill program on its 100% owned East Side diamond property. In total, over 3700 metres of HQ size core was drilled on three different kimberlite bodies on East Side. Samples from the 121, Duke and Dizzy kimberlite bodies were tested for microdiamond analysis for which results are pending.
