North Star Diamonds to Commence Initial Drilling Program on Canada Superior Craton Project
- BusinessWire
BELLINGHAM, Wash., Sep 24, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- North Star Diamonds, Inc. (NQB Pink Sheets: NSDM) is pleased to report that the Company is finalizing the engineering and logistics to commence the initial drilling program on the recently acquired "Superior Craton Project".
In a News Release dated September 22, 2003, the Company announced it had acquired a 100% interest in a 10,000 acre diamond project in the Superior Craton in Canada. The Superior Craton, which is the largest Archean Craton in the world, represents 23% of the world's Archean rocks and is currently the focus of exploration for diamondiferous deposits by various diamond exploration companies.
North Star's Phase 1 drill program on the Superior Craton Project is scheduled to commence before the end of October and is designed to test a cluster of 10 circular magnetic anomalies that are associated to a major north-south structure located at the western margin of the Superior Craton. During a regional sampling program conducted by the Geological Survey of Canada in the 1990s, positive diamond indicator minerals were discovered. North Star's drilling program will explore these associated magnetic anomalies that are in close proximity to the diamond indicators.
Walter Stunder, President and CEO of North Star Diamonds states: "The Company is excited about the diamond potential of the 'Superior Craton Project' in Manitoba. We are anxiously anticipating the commencement of this initial drill program as diamonds have been discovered on either side of North Star's claims. The Company feels that the highly favorable geology, structures and indicators give an excellent opportunity for a new Canadian diamond discovery within our strategically located acquisition in the Superior Craton."
North Star Diamonds is a rapidly growing company focused on the discovery of commercial diamond deposits in Ukraine and in Canada. North Star Diamonds has exceptional land holdings and a highly skilled management and technical team respected for breaking new ground in the highly competitive diamond industry. The Company's shares trade on the OTC Pink Sheets under the symbol NSDM.
