North Star to commence ground magnetic survey on Superior Craton Project and outlines exploration schedule
- PR Newswire
BELLINGHAM, WA, Oct 16, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- North Star Diamonds, Inc. (NQB Pink Sheets: NSDM). North Star Diamonds, Inc. is pleased to report that the Company commenced a ground magnetic geophysical survey on the Superior Craton Project, Manitoba Canada on October 13, 2003. The program is estimated to be completed within 14 days.
North Star has implemented the following exploration schedule timeframe at the Superior Craton Project: 1) Ground magnetic geophysical survey: 10-14 days, 2) Data compilation and interpretation: 14 days, 3) Phase 1 Drill program: 14-21 days, 4) Core Analysis: 6-8 weeks.
In a News Release dated September 22, 2003 the Company reported it had acquired a 100% interest in strategically located mining claims within the Superior Craton in Canada. The Company's claim block (16,400 acres) is located in southeastern Manitoba where during the 1990's, positive diamond indicator minerals were discovered in the area by the Geological Survey of Canada. North Star staked a cluster of magnetic anomalies in proximity to these diamond indicators.
A total of 12 high priority kimberlite targets, which are associated to a major north-south structure located at the western margin of the Superior Craton, are to be drill tested over the next few months. Results from this upcoming ground magnetic survey will be critical in aiding and assisting the Company's diamond consultants to further define these drill targets.
The Company also wishes to outline the schedule of events currently underway in Ukraine, these being:
1) Summer drill program: completed, 2) Drill core micro-diamond analysis: ongoing with results expected within 14-21 days, 3) Mini-bulk sampling of approximately 5 tons: 3-4 weeks following completion of the aforementioned drill core analysis. The results from the drill core analysis will assist the Company in positioning the large diameter drill core locations for the planned mini-bulk sample program.
The Company's geological consultants have estimated that the mini-bulk sample will take between 8-12 weeks to process and report on the 5 tons of material gathered.
North Star Diamonds, Inc. is committed to a long-range plan for diamond exploration and feels that with the Superior Craton Project and the assets in Ukraine, North Star is focused on establishing the Company as a true world explorer in search for diamonds.
