North Star Diamonds, Inc. - Compilation and interpretation of ground magnetic survey completed on Phase 1 at the Superior Craton Project
- PR Newswire
BELLINGHAM, WA, Nov 4, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- North Star Diamonds, Inc. (NQB Pink Sheets: NSDM). North Star Diamonds, Inc. today reports that the compilation and interpretation of the recently completed ground magnetic survey which is part of a Phase 1 exploration program at the Superior Craton Project is now complete.
North Star's President, Mr. Walter Stunder states that "the recently received, initial geophysical mag-survey data results are most promising. The classic kimberlite signatures suggest that the targets are well defined and the Company is now in the process of locating suitable drill sites. Drilling of the targets will be the next stage in our ongoing exploration program. Also, any additional work required prior to drilling will be minimal."
The first four initial drill targets have been designated as Shire, Merry, Bree, and Gimli. These are now being permitted for drilling in the upcoming winter program planned to commence when the ground has frozen sufficiently. North Star anticipates starting drilling by December, 2003.
In a News Release dated September 22, 2003 the Company reported it had acquired a 100% interest in strategically located mining claims within the Superior Craton in Canada. The Company's claim block (16,400 acres) is located in southeastern Manitoba where during the 1990's, positive diamond indicator minerals were discovered in the area by the Geological Survey of Canada. North Star staked a cluster of magnetic anomalies in proximity to these diamond indicators.
In a News Release dated October 27th the Company reported on the results of a study where significant numbers of kimberlitic indicator minerals had been identified that mark important signatures to the presence of kimberlite pipes. In 1991 and 1992 the Geological Survey of Canada, in co-operation with Manitoba Energy and Mines, undertook a till sampling, overburden sampling and drilling project over the drift covered Wabigoon belt rocks of southeastern Manitoba, south of 50 degrees North which included the North Star claims. A total of 55 kimberlitic indicators minerals were recovered.
The aforementioned four targets which are part of a total of 12 high priority magnetic anomalies associated to a major north-south structure located at the western margin of the Superior Craton are to be drill tested over the next year.
North Star Diamonds, Inc. is committed to a long-range plan for diamond exploration and feels that with the Superior Craton Project and the assets in Ukraine, North Star is focused on establishing the Company as a true world explorer in search for diamonds.
