- PR Newswire
BELLINGHAM, WA, Nov 18, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via Comtex/ -- North Star Diamonds, Inc. (NQB Pink Sheets: NSDM) President, Walter Stunder, having returned from the Manitoba Mining and Minerals convention in Winnipeg, Manitoba, today reports that the Company enjoyed a very successful and high profile presence at the conference.
"The Company was very well received and experienced considerable interest in North Star's forthcoming drill program which is scheduled to commence as soon as conditions allow access by drilling equipment to the various drill sites. North Star also met with the Honourable Scott Smith, Minister, of the Manitoba Industry, Economic Development and Mines. Mr. Smith expressed a keen interest in the Superior Craton Project as did various members of the Manitoba Geological Survey. Several presentations were made with respect to the Diamond and Kimberlite Potential in Manitoba and the Superior Craton.
North Star also received interest from local media outlets, these being newspapers, radio and television. There is a strong interest in the upcoming drilling program. Company representatives also met with various major diamond companies who expressed interest in what we are doing and stated that they are watching both the Superior Craton Project and the Company's activities in the Ukraine closely. The Board is very positive about the potential for the company and is looking forward to testing the kimberlite targets."
In a News Release November 4th, 2003, the Company announced the completion of the compilation and interpretation of recently completed ground magnetic survey. The first four initial drill targets have been designated as Shire, Merry, Bree, and Gimli. These four initial targets represent Phase 1 of a total of 12 high priority magnetic anomalies associated to a major north- south structure located at the western margin of the Superior Craton which will be drilled over the next year.
In a News Release dated November 6th, 2003 the Company reported that it had added an additional 10,000 acres to the previous claim block on the Superior Craton Project. The new land position now covers approximately 26,400 acres of prospective diamond claims. North Star's claims (26,400 acres) are located in southeastern Manitoba, Canada where during the 1990's, positive diamond indicator minerals were discovered in the area by the Geological Survey of Canada. North Star staked an initial cluster of magnetic anomalies in proximity to these diamond indicators.
North Star Diamonds, Inc. is committed to a long-range plan for diamond exploration and feels that with the Superior Craton Project and the assets in Ukraine, North Star is focused on establishing the Company as a true world explorer in search for diamonds.
