North Star reports encouraging results of recent survey on Superior Craton Project
- PR Newswire
BELLINGHAM, WA, Nov 24, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via Comtex/ -- North Star Diamonds, Inc. (NQB Pink Sheets: NSDM) North Star is pleased to report the results of grid preparation and magnetic surveying that took place between Oct. 14 and Oct. 18, 2003.
Spectra Management Corp. was contracted by North Star Diamonds, Inc. to establish grids and conduct total field ground magnetic surveys on four of North Star's Superior Craton Project airborne targets. North Star's claims (26,400 acres) are located in southeastern Manitoba, Canada approximately 80 kilometers east of Winnipeg, MB on Highway No. 1, and 7 kilometers north of the village of Hadishville, MB on Highway No. 11. The Superior Craton property offers high probability for successful diamond exploration and production.
The targets were selected from data contained in 1965 Geological Survey of Canada Geophysical Papers 4067 and 4068. The 1965 data was collected by airborne magnetic surveying at an elevation of 1000 feet (330 meters) above ground and at east/west line spacing of approximately 1000 meters.
The four grids were designed to cover the targets named Shire, Bree, Merry and Gimli. All grids are easily accessible by road, and for the most part are located on farmland.
The four targets exhibit magnetic signatures consistent with dyke-like features, including kimberlite bodies, which have been observed in other parts of western Canada, where successful diamond exploration has occurred. These kimberlite structures and magnetic anomalies are indicative of the strong probability of the presence of diamondiferous deposits.
These four initial targets represent Phase 1 of a total of 12 high priority magnetic anomalies associated to a major north-south structure located at the western margin of the Superior Craton that will be drilled over the next year.
North Star Diamonds, Inc. is committed to a long-range plan for diamond exploration and feels that with the Superior Craton Project and the assets in Ukraine, North Star is focused on establishing the Company as a true world explorer in its search for diamonds.
