BELLINGHAM, WA, Feb 17, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- North Star Diamonds, Inc. (NQB Pink Sheets: NSDM) North Star Diamonds is pleased to announce that the drill results have proven positive.
A lamprophyre, believed to be the first in Manitoba has been discovered on the Shire 1 target. Lamprophyres are of the same geological formation as Kimberlite and Lamproites. Further work will be done on the Shire 1 target with regard to geophysical work and further exploratory drilling. Further staking of land has been done to secure the area. Other geological anomalies in the area will be drilled as part of North Star's ongoing exploratory program.
Merry, Gimli, and Bree were found to be of no interest in diamond exploration. However; they are being tested for rare earth metals. Results will be announced as received.
Further information will be posted on our website to keep you informed as to our progress on finding diamonds in Manitoba.
North Star was also informed that the MEAP program (Mineral Exploration Assistance Program) has been approved. Under this program, up to 25% of expenditure will be reimbursed to North Star for exploration work done in Manitoba.
