North Star Diamonds, Inc. - Update on Phase 2 drill program
- PR Newswire
BELLINGHAM, WA, May 13, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- North Star Diamonds, Inc. (NQB Pink Sheets: NSDM) wishes to inform its shareholders that drilling on the Glory 129 began on Monday May 10th. Mr. Victor Sidic, Geologist is in charge of the project and has informed us that the project has not encountered any problems.
Phase 2 of the drilling program is located in the Wekusko Lake area of Manitoba, which is the only area in Manitoba in which a Kimberlite dyke was found.
The program consists of 2 drill holes on the Glory 129 and one drill hole on Basin 2 claim. The Basin 2 claim was staked by Mr. Bruce Dunlop, a geologist who worked and lived in Manitoba all his life. The claim was staked several years ago based on geological and geophysical information gathered by him. NSDM has an agreement in which NSDM gains 90 % control of the claim with a 2% net smelter return retained by Mr. Bruce Dunlop.
Mr. Stunder will be traveling to the Wekusko Lake drill site to inspect work done by Major Drilling Group International Inc. (www.majordrilling.com) and also, to further Phase 3 of the drilling program which is expected to commence in June. Phase 3 is located closer to Winnipeg and has very good kimberlite indicator minerals.
Mr. Stunder is encouraged and enthusiastic about the possibilities of the Phase 2 drill site that he is spending the remainder of the week in this region personally to oversee the drilling program and get a hands-on view of the company's work in progress.
Canada is now being recognized as one of the best areas in the world for diamond exploration, where extensive exploration activities are now being conducted by industry leaders. North Star Diamonds, Inc. is committed to a financially-rewarding, lucrative, long-range program of diamond exploration and commercialization.
