Vancouver, B.C. - War Eagle Mining Company Inc. (TSX Venture Exchange -- WAR) Work has commenced on War Eagle's Tres Marias Germanium / Zinc mine located in Chihuahua, Mexico.
A ground control survey was established and Eagle Mapping Ltd. completed a color air photographic survey in January. Topographic maps and orthophotos are currently being produced. Geologic mapping (1:10,000 scale) of the 2831-hectare claim block is currently under way. Geologic mapping (1:1000 scale) of a 1500-hectare area around the Tres Marias mine will commence in April.
Geologist Henry Truebe, Ph. D, is working on the 1:10,000 photo geology map and geologist Roberto del Angel has been retained as the on-site field geologist.
Fidencio Ramirez, Mining Engineer, will be the resident supervisor for the Company. Diseno Industrial Parralense (Gabriel Torres, Mining Engineer and owner) will rehabilitate the underground workings. This work will to commence by mid April - surveying, geologic mapping, and sampling of the underground workings will be undertaken after the rehabilitation is completed.
A diamond drill program will be initiated once surveying, geologic mapping, and sampling are completed. The objective of the drill program is to outline a 500,000 tonne resource of germanium / zinc ore. This is the estimated tonnage required to initiate a feasibility study for the project.
Discussions are in progress with consultants regarding plant metallurgy.
