War Eagle Mining Company Inc.: Tres Marias Underground Sampling & Drilling Update
09:00 EST Thursday, December 08, 2005
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Business Wire) -- War Eagle Mining Company Inc. (TSX VENTURE:WAR) - A third group of assay results from the underground channel sampling program at the Tres Marias mine have again returned assay values comparable to results reported by Minera Kennecott de Mexico in 1996. A total of 104 (#309 - #413) one and one-half meter (1 1/2) meter long horizontal channel samples averaged 66 grams Germanium (Ge) and 14% Zinc (Zn) from an area of greater than 500 square meters. These samples were taken around the periphery and pillars of the accessible portions of level 5 1/2. The entire level has a length of 70 meters and an average width of 10 to 15 meters.
During the month of November the Tres Marias sample preparation laboratory for the project was completed in Nueva Lajitas, Chih., about 15 km from the mine site. All future samples collected on the property will be prepared for assay at this facility.
The Tres Marias Mine underground workings are currently being surveyed. This survey will provide a three-dimensional network for the Laser Imaging Survey which will be carried out at the beginning of 2006. A down-hole resistivity survey and surface gravity and VLF - EM surveys of the mine area and the La Blanca and Comanche zones which are located 500 meters to the S. West & S. East will also be carried out. An extensive underground drilling program of 40 holes to delineate a minimum 500,000 metric ton resource at the mine site will begin in January.
