COMPANY NAMES PROJECTS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Neil Yingling, President/CEO, on behalf of the Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Gary L. Billingsley, C.A., P.Eng. P.Geo., a director of the Company, has been appointed Vice President, and will serve as Chief Geologist and Projects Development Director. He will also head the Technical Advisory Committee that reports to the office of the President.
Mr. Billingsley has now assumed all planning and engineering development effort in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, previously managed on an interim basis by the President. The primary projects to be directed by Mr. Billingsley include development of the Company's Hoidas Lake rare earth and strategic minerals properties in northern Saskatchewan, as well as the Company's Candle Lake diamond project in the Fort a la Corne region of central Saskatchewan. Information on both projects may be reviewed by visiting the company website at www.greatwesterngold.com. In addition the company expects to announce other appointments to its Technical Advisory Committee shortly. In his role as Projects Development Director, Mr. Billingsley is also investigating a wide scope of opportunities for future corporate development within the rare earth, strategic metal and diamond industries.
For informational purposes, the Company reports that it anticipates it will achieve the private funding commitments sought in order to commence the work program on its Candle Lake diamond project as announced on March 6, 2002. It further reports that commitments for private funding for its Hoidas Lake rare earth project although in advanced discussion stage is expected to come to fruition in the near future.
