Wescan appoints new Chief Financial Officer

SASKATOON, Sept. 5 /CNW/ - Maurice (Moe) F. Lindsay, President of Wescan Goldfields Inc. ("Wescan" or the "Company") is pleased to announce on behalf of the Board of Directors that Mr. Lorne D. Green, CA has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer effective September 5, 2006. Mr. Green was most recently employed as the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for International Road Dynamics Inc. Mr. Green is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience with public company administration, international operations and capital market financing.
Maurice (Moe) F. Lindsay, stated "a key element of Wescan's strategy to grow the Company is to build a first class team and the addition of Mr. Green to the position of Chief Financial Officer is a significant step towards that goal."
Maurice (Moe) F. Lindsay and the Board of Directors wish to thank Mr. Harvey Bay, CMA, former Chief Financial Officer, for his contributions to the Company since its incorporation. Mr. Bay will play a key role in the advancement of the Company as he continues to act as a director.
