December 1, 2004 – United Carina Resources Corp. (UCA – TSX Venture) is pleased to announce that it has received a report on a 4-hole drill program completed on its Pine Lake, Saskatchewan gold property.
United Carina is a 50% partner with Claude Resources Inc. in the property, which is located 3 kilometres from Claude’s Seabee gold mine. High-grade gold values were encountered in several sections. Notably, the deepest hole (PL-05) returned the best results at relatively greater depths – 8.93 grams/tonne over 1.75 metres (290.25 – 292.0 m) , 9.83 grams/tonne over 1.25 metres (296.55 to 297.8 m) , and 20.87 grams/tonne over 0.8 metres (352.55 – 353.35 m). Hole number PL-04 also intersected a section with 25.33 grams/ton over 1.15 metres (219.75 to 220.90m).
The four holes drilled in the Carina showing covered a strike length of 85 metres. Structurally, the Carina showing is located near the contact between the Laonil Lake Intrusive Complex and the Pine Lake greenstone
belt and is on a trend with two known mineralization zones of the Seabee Deposit. The Seabee mine has
produced almost 700,000 ounces of gold and has reserves for at least another three years. The Seabee mine is currently generating 550 tonnes of ore per day. The mill has the capacity to process an additional 250 – 300
tonnes per day without any additional capital equirements. A supplemental feed source, even small in
tonnage, for the Seabee mill would improve the operation’s overall economics.
The exploration plans for the Pine Lake property are to try and outline gold reserves that could be trucked to the Seabee mill for processing. To that end, a definitive joint venture agreement is being drawn up, whereby Claude will be the operator of the property and drilling will begin as soon as possible to further explore the Pine Lake property, particularly the Carina showing.
United Carina looks forward to working with Claude Resources Inc. on this venture, as Claude has 20 years
of experience exploring and mining this area.
