Mr. Rick Walker, President of United Carina Resources Corp. (TSX Venture - UCA), is pleased to announce that results from a drill program on its 50% owned gold property in the Laonil Lake area of Saskatchewan have been received from joint venture partner Claude Resources Inc. The property is located south of Pine Lake, about 3 kilometres northeast of Claude’s Seabee gold mine. The program consisted of four holes totaling 1,241.7 metres and was managed by Claude Resources Inc., the operator.
Shear structures with quartz veins and associated sulfides were encountered in three of the four holes with variable down-hole intervals from 0.5 to 5 metres. All the samples were fire assayed for gold in the Seabee mine assay lab. Elevated gold values were returned with a best result of 12.67 grams per tonne of gold over a 0.80 metre core length from DDH PL05-7. The mineralized intersections and assay results are consistent with those from previous drilling programs.
There is a tendency of stronger mineralization downward along the dip direction. Four to six more holes are recommended to test the down dip extension and along strike extension of these shear structures and mineralization. Assaying was completed at the TSL Saskatoon Laboratory. Patrick Hannon, M.A.Sc., P.Eng., Claude’s Vice President of Exploration, is Claude Resources Inc.’s qualified person. It is anticipated that the recommended holes will be drilled in February-March of this year.
ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD
Rick Walker,
President
