Star Uranium Corp.: Summer Exploration About to Start

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(CCNMatthews - April 26, 2007) - Star Uranium Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SUV - News) Mr. Rick Walker reports that a $750,000 exploration program on the Company's Alexander Lake and Pardoe Lake uranium properties will commence in May. The properties are in the vicinity of JNR Resources Inc.'s Way Lake project where JNR reported bedrock surface samples grading up to 48% U3O8. Initially, the program will consist of an airborne VTEM survey to identify conductive zones, which may host uranium. Star Uranium has also ordered IKONOS high-resolution satellite imagery covering the entire project area. This imagery will be analyzed by the Saskatchewan Research Council using lineament analysis to identify structural settings to aid in drill target selection. Once the airborne survey and imagery analysis is completed, ground geophysics will be done in areas selected by consultants. Diamond drilling will be conducted on all viable targets.
The Company has received a consultant's report on its 100% owned Cree Lake property, recommending ground follow-up in two areas. Geophysics and prospecting will be carried out this summer.
Ground geophysics on the Stony Rapids/Black Lake property has outlined a drill target to be tested this summer. It is planned to share a drill with a junior company, which will also be working in this area. Some of the claims in this group will be allowed to lapse, as geophysics failed to outline targets suitable for drilling.
A VLF survey and a MAX-MIN survey were carried out on the Company's Collins Bay property this winter. Both surveys outlined two excellent targets, but ice conditions (pressure ridges) prevented drilling this winter.
In order to ensure that the Company will be able to carry out drilling its various properties, Star Uranium has purchased a 50% interest in a Longyear 38 drill and all the necessary equipment. The drill will be operated by a well-experienced crew under an arrangement whereby the drillers can earn ownership of the drill over a two-year period.
In Alberta, the Company holds interests in two projects. The Peace River-Buffalo Head Hills diamond project is a 50%-50% JV between UCA and SUV and covers 184,048 hectares (454,792 acres) in 20 Metallic Minerals Permits located 350 km north of Edmonton. Microprobe results from a further 29 till and stream sediment samples have now been received. Results continue to be dominated by kimberlitic olivine grains of similar geochemistry to those associated with Ashton Mining's 38 pipes 70 km. to the NE. Microprobe analysis also confirms the presence of numerous G-9 garnets with a rare G-10 garnet. Till sampling on the project has returned kimberlitic indicators consisting of pyrope garnets, chrome diopside, ilmenites, chromites and olivines which appear to define a geographically restricted area of at least two populations of anomalous indicators down ice of a cluster of geophysical targets. The presence of two till sheets and several buried channels add some complexity to the indicator mineral distribution. The indicators do not appear to be derived from Ashton's pipes to the NE. Complete high-resolution aeromagnetic data for the Peace River Block has now been acquired. Exploration drilling, which had been deferred pending receipt of the microprobe and geophysical data can now proceed on the anomaly cluster and other priority targets. The program will be underway once permits are in place. The Qualified Person for the property is Paul A. Hawkins P.Eng.
Also in Alberta, the Zama Lake project (230,400 acres) is a grassroots Pb-Zn property located in NW Alberta which was acquired based on the discovery by the GSC/AGS (Geological Survey of Canada / Alberta Geological Survey) of anomalous sphalerite and galena grains from samples collected as part of the federally funded regional diamond exploration program. The results incorrectly viewed by some as a down ice transport dispersion train of mineralization from Pine Point, appears to be related to proximal bedrock source of hydrothermal fluids from basement rocks into the overlying shale bedrock and till. Field examination including surficial mapping and ice flow studies indicate that it is unlikely that the sphalerite-bearing till is a product of long distance transport from the Pine Point Pb-Zn deposit mined by Cominco, now Teck-Cominco (symbol:TEK.MV.A-TSE) between 1964 and 1998.
The Company has acquired high-resolution aeromagnetic data for the property area and received confirmation of the presence of sphalerite grains using two different laboratories using different methodologies. A second set of follow-up samples is currently in the final stages of being picked at ODM (Overburden Drilling Management of Nepean, Ontario). A summer follow-up geophysical program is planned to cover several priority targets along deep-seated structures. The Qualified Person for the property is Paul A. Hawkins P.Eng.
A final report will be received soon on the Company's 50% owned Anglo Rouyn property near La Ronge, Saskatchewan.
In keeping with the Company's objective of becoming a pure uranium company, Star Uranium is considering offers it has received for its non-uranium properties and will be selling them this summer.
In Ukraine, good progress is being made towards becoming involved in uranium development in that country.
The Company is well funded to proceed with all its exploration plans for the foreseeable future, and looks forward to a very busy 2007.
