Juina Mining Corporation (GEMM), a Nevada corporation, has a 49% interest in a joint venture partnership with Emerging Africa Gold, Inc. (EAG) in the Brazilian Company Juina Mining Mineracao, Ltda. JMML holds an 86% working interest in the mining and mineral rights to approximately 1000 hectares (2,471 acres) of diamond bearing land in the District of Juina, Mato Grosso, Brazil "The Property 1000". Property 1000 is located in the District of Juina, at the southern region of the Amazon Basin.

Province of Matto Grosso, Brazil
Iciena holds a 20% undivided interest in the 63,000 hectare Matto Grosso diamond project. The property was also host to a large scale diamond rush in the 1960’s, when alluvial diamonds were first discovered. The proliferation of high quality diamonds in the area attracted several major diamond mining companies leading to the discovery of numerous kimberlite pipes. Many of the discoveries as recent as the 1990’s, only to be prematurely abandoned when met with mixed success.
Nine Kimberlite pipes were sampled, 7 un-sampled pipes remain, and 40 additional un-sampled targets occur within the 63,000-hectare claim block. A sample of 21 diamonds, collected from the property by Dr. Fipke, exhibit pristine or near-pristine surfaces, suggested a local source for the significant number of alluvial diamonds found on the claims.
Dr. Fipke also found something even more interesting than the evidence of diamonds on this property. The discovery of eclogitic garnets, which are indicator minerals that grow with diamonds, were found in 2 of the initial heavy mineral samples he collected. Group 1 eclogitic garnets characterize some of the largest diamond mines in the world, such as De Beers’s Orapa mine in Botswana, the Robert Victor and Bobbejean mines in South Africa, the Zagadochnaya mine in Russia, and the Diamond Works’ Koidu mine in Sierra Leone.
C.F. Mineral Research Ltd., the laboratory Dr. Fipke founded in his pursuit of the Ekati diamond mine, has developed state-of-the-art proprietary technology that makes it able to accurately distinguish group 1 eclogitic garnets from each other eclogitic garnets. They can distingush between Eclogitic garnets that grow with diamonds and also the ones that do not grow with diamonds. This technology was not available to the companies that previously worked the area and had mixed success with the project in the 1960’s. “We have the advantage of much more sophisticated technology than we used to find ekati,” say Dr. Fipke. “Not to mention the benefit of the data from the previous work that has been done on the property.” Fipke also said, “This is a strong shortcut to an advanced project and the basis for a new investment. This is an area with very high potential for undiscovered primary diamond deposits.”
Local "Garimpeiros" carry loads up the steep slope in the hopes of uncovering some of Brazil's major alluvial diamond sources. Since the 1960's, local miners have had success in finding these diamonds by using some of the most primitive methods of exploration. Iciena hopes that the advanced technology now available to the company can give them an advantage in uncovering a major source of diamonds in Brazil's rapidly developing diamond district, Mato Grosso.
Dr. Charles Fipke as Operator/
Dr. Charles Fipke: Unmatched Success
For ICIENA Ventures Inc., having a renowned diamond expert such as Dr. Charles Fipke as a driving force behind exploration and development, speaks volumes for the merit and potential of its Matto Grosso project. Dr. Fipke first rose to international prominence following the spectacular 1992 discovery of Canada¹s first ever multi-billion dollar commercial diamond deposit, now known as the Ekati Mine. When the discovery was announced, it sparked the biggest staking rush in Canadian history.
Today, Dr. Fipke is widely recognized for his acute ability to employ the latest scientific methodology to identify diamondiferous kimberlitic sources, sufficient for him to run his own very advanced geological laboratory and continue to explore for major diamond deposits around the world. Dr. Fipke views Iciena¹s Mato Grosso project as an emerging diamond exploration play. Based on our evaluation to date, the Amazon Craton is clearly a district that presents a very high potential to host a number of primary diamond deposits and at present, we have the decided advantage of much more sophisticated technology than we used to find Ekati². president of CMKI, which will be among the matters to be considered
at the AGM. Mr. Bending is a registered geologist with 25 years
experience in mineral exploration and mining, world-wide. He has been
very active in Brazil since 1996, fluent in Portuguese, and responsible
for diamond development in Latin America.
