West Texas Well Completion Update; Wyoming Location staked
Vancouver BC, February 29, 2000 -Golden Arch Resources Ltd. is pleased to announce the Warren/Thurmond #2 well has been perforated in the Duffer Formation and bottom hole tests indicate excellent virgin formation pressure. The Warren/Thurmond #2 and the discovery well, the Warren/ Thurmond # 1 well is located on the company’s 10% owned, 2800 acre Camp Colorado Prospect located in Coleman County, Texas. The Duffer Formation is the deepest of three formations that encountered hydrocarbons during drilling. After a 72-hour bottom hole survey pressure was measured at 1,250 psi (pounds per square inch) and continuing to build. The project engineering consultant has recommended the present test be continued for an additional 48 hours or until the pressure has reached its peak. This test will determine the appropriate treatment to be performed on the well after which a 4-point flow-rate test will be conducted. Results will then be announced and the well will be immediately put on line. Additional development wells are planned for the Camp Colorado Prospect.
The Company is also pleased to announce that a Wyoming location has been staked, and
building of a drilling location is expected to commence within the next week on the Company's 10% owned, 3400 acre Madren Draw Prospect located in Eastern Wyoming. Drilling is expected to commence in March. The well to be drilled is a 6000 ft Dakota test. The Madren Draw Prospect is thought to be the analog of the 2000 acre Coyote Creek Field located five miles to the North. Since discovery in 1958, Coyote Creek has produced over 28,000,000 barrels of oil over 25 BCF of natural gas from the Dakota formation and is still producing. The cumulative average production from each of the 58 wells drilled and completed in the Coyote Creek Field is over 491,000 Barrels of oil and 500 million cubic feet of natural gas.
