Glenmore Highlands Updates the AK 5034 Kimberlite
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 1996-- GLENMORE HIGHLANDS LTD (Alberta Stock Exchange: GMH) Glenmore Highlands Inc. ("Glenmore") is pleased to provide a further update on the AK 5034 kimberlite.
An additional 1,499.1 kg of kimberlite have been processed by caustic fusion of exploration drill core since the last news release of February 5, 1996, and diamond recovery and grades remain consistent.
The updated grade figures for the 5034 deposit are as follows: -0- Total Core Processed 5,836.68 kg Total Diamonds 7.565 ct/tonne Total Macros 7.036 ct/tonne Macros > 1.0 mm 5.369 ct/tonne Macros > 2.0 mm 1.831 ct/tonne

Included within the results was a 0.9 carat diamond and a number of colored diamonds. At this time, there are four drills operating on the project. Two of the drills are involved with securing bulk sample kimberlite, one is drilling the exploration targets, and the fourth is delineating the AK 5034 pipe. The deposit boundaries are being extended and remain open to the southwest.
The initial bulk sample continues to make good progress with 2 PQ core drills working on the property. The core from these drills is being processed by a density media separation (DMS) unit. The DMS unit will produce results based upon commercial production with only those diamonds over 1 mm. being measured.
Preliminary processing of a fraction of the 10 tonne batch of bulk sample kimberlite in the x-ray sortex has returned a 1.2 carat gem quality diamond and 6 diamonds of approximately 0.25 carats each. Processing is continuing.
The AK/CJ property is held 40 percent by Glenmore, 50 percent by Mountain Province Mining Inc. (VSE:MPV) and 10 percent by Camphor Ventures Inc. (VSE:CFV), and the management of the property is controlled 50 percent by Glenmore and 50 percent by Mountain Province. Glenmore is 45 percent owned by Lytton Minerals Limited (TSE:LTL).
