GLENMORE HIGHLANDS REPORTS DRILLING RESULTS ON THE AK PROPERTY.
VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JUNE 22, 1995--GLENMORE HIGHLANDS INC(Alberta Stock Exchange: GMH ) DRILLING PROGRESS Glenmore Highlands Inc. ("Glenmore") is pleased to announce that delineation drilling continues on the AK property area 5034 kimberlite complex. To date, 29 holes have been drilled. The latest hole is in the process of being drilled vertically, and is situated 300 meters to the north of the original discovery hole. As of this morning, the drill has reached a depth of 337 meters (1,105 feet) and remains in kimberlite. It is located on land, approximately 30 meters from the edge of the lake.
It is not yet possible to determine the exact size or configuration of the kimberlite structure, which remains open to the north and to the south. Further delineation drilling will continue. Within the 5034 area, in addition to the discovery, there are 10 further targets scheduled to be drill tested during the ensuing weeks.
DIAMOND RESULTS
Further results have been received from the processing of drill core. The results from this additional processing are as follows:
HOLE WEIGHT MACROS MICROS MACROS MACROS
kg greater than 1mm per 10 kg
-------------------------------------------------------------
AK002E 154.80 35 154 11 2.26
AK002F 45.90 37 110 6 8.06
AK002N 91.80 60 181 11 6.54
-------------------------------------------------
292.50 132 445 28 4.51
-------------------------------------------------------------
Total Core
to Date 716.95 580 2403 114 8.09
-------------------------------------------------------------
HOLE MACROS TOTAL DIAMONDS
greater than 1mm per 10 kg per 10 kg
-------------------------------------------------------------
AK002E 0.71 12.21
AK002F 1.31 32.03
AK002N 1.20 26.25
-------------------------------------
0.96 19.73
-------------------------------------------------------------
Total Core
to Date 1.59 41.61
-------------------------------------------------------------
The inclusion of these additional results gives the following aggregated figures for the 716.95 kilograms processed to date:
Total Macros 7.290 ct/tonne
Macros greater than 1.0 mm. 4.966 ct/tonne
Macros greater than 2.0 mm. 1.565 ct/tonne
Total Diamonds 8.178 ct/tonne
Selection of the drill core for caustic dissolution is determined by the necessity to test each separate facies for its diamond content. So far all samples tested have proved to be diamondiferous, although there is variation in diamond content between the facies. Four distinct facies have so far been identified.
The above results were produced by Saskatchewan Research Council. In order to deal with the backlog of drill core to be processed, the operator on the property, Canamera Geological Ltd., is setting up a caustic dissolution laboratory in Vancouver. The availability of this additional facility will accelerate the production of future results.
The AK property is held 50 per cent by Mountain Province Mining Inc. (VSE-MPV), 40 per cent by Glenmore and 10 per cent by Camphor Ventures Inc. (VSE-CFV). Glenmore is 47 per cent owned by Lytton Minerals Limited (TSE-LTL). -0-
