Drilling to commence on Saskatchewan Diamond Properties
Shane Resources Ltd. is pleased to announce that drilling is about to commence on its Saskatchewan diamond properties. The first two targets to be tested are located west of the Narrow Hills Provincial Park. A total of 17 airborne anomalies were examined in this area, with ground geophysics conducted over 4 of the highest priority targets.
The two anomalies chosen to be drill-tested are considered by the Company's consulting geophysist to have a good possibility of being caused by kimberlite pipes. Known diamondiferous pipes occur within 20 kilometers of these two targets. This initial program on the project known as "White Gull" will be results driven and may be expanded.
Following the White Gull drilling, the drill will be moved to the Fort à la Corne area to test several targets in that area.
The Company recently flew a 2,000 line-kilometre geophysical survey on its Fort à la Corne properties and ground follow-up is just being completed. The Fort à la Corne area contains about 75 kimberlite pipes and is one of the largest kimberlite clusters in the world. Two other projects in the area have ongoing work in progress and both have plans for further drilling this year. The Company is encouraged by their results to date and looks forward to the forthcoming drill programs, in the White Gull area and in the Fort à la Corne area.
