NEWS RELEASE
YOUNG #2-66 WELL COMPLETION
July 20, 2005 – Golden Arch Resources Ltd. (the ‘Company’) and partners are pleased to present the results from the Young #2-66 well drilled in Major Creek Fields in Hemphill County, Texas.
The Young #2-66 was drilled in south central Hemphill County approximately 11 miles south of Canadian, Texas. The well was drilled to a depth of 12,744’ where intermediate casing was run covering the Granite Wash intervals; subsequently the well was drilled deeper to a total depth of 13,518’ where a 4 ½” production casing was set.
Completion in the Morrow interval was unsuccessful and the well was subsequently completed in the Upper and Lower Granite Wash intervals.
Production from the field is from the Upper Granite Wash, a detritus zone generated by the erosion of the nearby buried Wichita Mountains. The field is currently active and is depth segregated. The Company had the right to earn an interest from the base of the Upper Granite Wash (current producing horizon) approximately 11,200’ and below. Negotiation with Devon Corporation has allowed the Company to earn additional interest in the currently producing Upper Granite Wash intervals in this particular well. Serendipity has allowed for new discovery in the Lower Granite Wash interval as well and completion attempts were made in all Granite wash intervals and combined.
The Lower Granite Wash was perforated from:
Frac

11,978’
12,246’
Second
11,566’
11,810’
Third

Each set of perforations were fracture stimulated and partially flowed back. Rates of as much as 3,000 [MCFGPD] were recorded during flowback. After the lower perforations were completed the operator, Devon Corporation added the Upper Granite Wash interval from:
Frac

10,769’
11,054’
The lower perforations had to be flooded with water to allow completion in the upper interval.
Devon Corporation flow tested the well after partial flowback of all zones. The test from 3/15/2005 recorded flow rates of 1,322 [MCFGPD] with an unrecorded, but substantial amount of frac fluid still to be recovered.
