NEW DIAMOND DISCOVERY AT FORT A LA CORNE
Assays from approximately 50% of the core samples from drilling on the Company’s 75%-owned Fort a la Corne diamond lands (25% Rio Nevada Mines Corporation) have now been received, and the Company is pleased to provide an update on the results.
Five NQ-size drill holes (1.9 inches in diameter) were completed on four geophysical targets with kimberlite intersected in all holes. The core was split, retaining half of the core for further assay. The first target, measuring approximately 1/2 kilometre in diameter, nearly perfectly circular, returned 245 metres of kimberlite from drill holes FALC 1 and 5 in the central portion of the pipe. FALC 2, 3 and 4 were collared approximately 1.5 km to the west of the first hole with FALC 3 collared 1.3 km north of FALC 4 and FALC 2 collared midway between FALC 3 and FALC 4 and 600 metres to the east. These western holes intersected a uniform sequence of kimberlite and kimberlitic sediments which appear to be one continuousm body. Ground geophysics indicate that this kimberlite sequence covers an area approximately 2 km by 1.5 km representing a resource well in excess of 100 million tonnes.
Samples have been selectively assayed, based on lithology, at the Saskatchewan Research Council in Saskatoon using the caustic fusion method for recovering diamonds.
With 50% of the samples processed, 72 diamonds have now been recovered. FALC 1 produced 5 diamonds out of 400 kg of sample, and FALC 2, 3 and 4 have produced 67 diamonds so far from 164 kg of sample. The core from FALC 5 has not yet been submitted for assay.
The Company is extremely encouraged by the results from FALC 2, 3 and 4. The high quality and large number of diamonds from such a small sample show the immense potential of the property.
The current sample results come from a kimberlite phase within the kimberlite sequence that is visually distinct (mineable), contains abundant indicator minerals, and appears to be a kimberlite flow covering a very wide area. From the three drill holes so far, the specific kimberlite unit averages 35 metres in thickness with FALC 3 and 4 assaying at over 5 diamonds per 10 kg. Assays have not yet been received for the 60 metres of kimberlitic material above and below this unit.
Diamond quality is 90% clear and white with no inclusions. 21 of the diamonds are octahedrons, 9 are dodecahedrons, 13 are multiple crystals and 29 are fragments. The largest diamond so far is a 1 mm octahedron and 3 diamonds are in the 0.5 mm plus range. The geochemistry of the indicator minerals, while so far not a priority, has also been encouraging. Several of the G10 garnets surviving the caustic process, from the western kimberlite, have been probed giving CaO values of 2% to 2.3% and Cr203 values of 8% to 8.5%.
Shore’s winter and spring drill programs include further testing of the FALC 1 kimberlite to determine if multiple phases exist, and delineation of the western kimberlite, including bulk sampling, to determine grade and tonnage of the resource.
Shore Gold Inc. is a Saskatchewan-based corporation engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral properties.
Shares of the Company trade on The Alberta Stock Exchange. Symbol SGF.

United Uranium Corp. and Star Uranium Corp. Announce Results of Sampling of Carolyn Pipe (ccnm)
SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Jan. 22, 2008) - United Uranium Corp. (TSX VENTURE:UUC) and Star Uranium Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SUV) are pleased to announce sample results of drill core from the "Carolyn" Kimberlite pipe in the Fort a la Corne area. This drilling took place in 2004 and consisted of 5 holes of which 4 encountered kimberlite. In the companies news release of June 15, 2004 sample results were reported for holes C1 and C2. Because of costs, management indicated that holes C4 and C5 would be tested at a later date. Holes C4 and C5 were subsequently sampled and analyses were received in June 2006. Due to an oversight by management at that time, the details of these results were not disclosed. The current management has become aware of this oversight, and is releasing the results of the sampling of holes C4 and C5.
Analysis of approximately 210.0 kg of split NQ core from holes C4 and C5 yielded 6 diamonds. The other half of the split core has been retained in a secure building.
Analysis was by total dissolution using caustic fusion, carried out by the Saskatchewan Research Council, which is certified under ISO 17025.
Sample A, representing core from 194.4 m to 207.9 m depth in hole C4, and having a mass of 27.8 kg, yielded 1 diamond retained on the 150 micron screen, 2 diamonds on the 106 micron screen, and 1 diamond on the 75 micron screen. Sample A was a light grey coloured, fine-grained calcitic kimberlite.
Sample D, representing the interval from 169.4 m to 193.8 m in hole C5, and having a mass of 47.25 kg, yielded 1 diamond on the 212 micron screen. Sample E, representing the interval from 147.7 m to 169.4 m in the same hole, and with a mass of 43.1 kg, yielded 1 diamond on the 106 micron screen. Samples D and E were both fine- to medium-grained lappilli tuffs, with sample E having more of the medium-grained sized lapilli.
Hole C5 is about 47 m north of hole C4. Hole C4 is about 34 m west of hole C1, and hole C5 is about 29 m west of hole C2, both previously reported in the press release of June 15, 2004. A total sample weight of approximately 386 kg from holes C1 and C2 returned 2 diamonds on the 106 micron screen. Hole C3, drilled about 48 m east of hole C1, failed to intersect the Carolyn kimberlite.
Present ownership of the property is a 50/50 joint venture between Star Uranium Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SUV) and United Uranium Corp. (TSX VENTURE:UUC). The companies are currently assessing exploration results to date.
