JNR Intersects Uranium Mineralization
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rick Kusmirski, President of JNR Resources Inc., is pleased to report that uranium mineralization has been intersected in the first hole drilled this summer on the JNR Resources/Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc., Moore Lake project.
Drill hole ML-25 intersected approximately 20 metres of anomalous to highly anomalous radioactivity with the better results occurring several metres into the basement. The mineralization is hosted by strongly clay altered graphitic pelites. In the higher grade intervals, clots and veinlets of pitchblende are clearly evident. Preliminary results from a downhole radiometric probe indicate a grade equivalent of almost 0.5% U3O8 over 7.5 metres, including a 0.7 metre interval of 2.4% U3O8. Core recovery through the mineralized zone was virtually 100% and as such a proper geochemical estimation of grade can and will be made. These results should be available in two to three weeks.
Hole #25 tested a recently interpreted east-northeast trending structural/conductive zone that is a minimum of a 2.0 kilometres long and is open ended off the gridded area, in both directions. This structural/conductive zone has not been tested to the northeast of ML-25 and has seen only limited drill testing to the southwest. It is noteworthy that one of those holes was the original 'Maverick Zone' discovery hole; ML-03. The potential of identifying economic concentrations of uranium mineralization along this structural /conductive zone is considered good.
Follow-up drilling is underway. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
