Diagem International Resource Corp. is pleased to announce that CONSEMA (Conselho Estadual do Meio Ambiente/ State Council for the Environment) voted unanimously to approve the Company's Environmental Diagnostic Report (the 'Report') for Property 214, Juina Diamond Province, Brazil. Approval of the Report, which consists of an environmental impact and management study, means that the Company has now satisfactorily met the last of the major criteria required to be fulfilled before a mining concession can be granted. This approval follows the acceptance and approval of the mining plan earlier submitted by the Company.
The Report relates to Property 214, which includes the Collier 4 diamondiferous kimberlite pipe, as well as three other diamondiferous kimberlite bodies and their associated gravel resources. As a result of this approval, Diagem has the opportunity to become the first kimberlite diamond producer in Brazil.
CONSEMA is a decision making council that deals with the application of environmental legislation, consisting of at least 21 different members drawn from Government, Non-Government, Not for profit and industry stakeholder groups. The unanimous approval by CONSEMA reflects the broad based support for the Company's activities.
For and on behalf of DIAGEM International Resource Corp.
