- BusinessWire
BELLINGHAM, Wash., Aug 20, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- North Star Diamonds, Inc. (NQB Pink Sheets: NSDM). North Star Diamonds, Inc. is pleased to report that the Company has appointed Prof. L.S. Galetsky as their diamond consultant. Prof. L.S. Galetsky received his Doctorate of Geology (Ph.D.) from the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kiev.
Prof. Galetsky is a former Vice Minister of Geology of Ukraine and is the leading proponent of diamond exploration in Ukraine. His studies of diamonds in Ukraine began in the late 1980s and continued as mapping of perspective areas intensified when Ukraine gained independence in 1992. Geological maps edited by Prof. Galetsky in 1992 showed dyke swarms and prospective areas for kimberlite discoveries. His comprehensive studies of the Ukrainian Shield, along with his colleague Dr. Svyatoslav Lepki lead to the publishing of a paper entitled "Diamondiferous Formations of Ukraine". To this day, this paper forms the basis of all diamond exploration in Ukraine. He also studied the relationship of certain indicator minerals to the occurrence of diamonds. Prof. Galetsky is still one of the leading authorities in the age dating of kimberlites in Ukraine.
In 2001, Prof. Galetsky has published a study on all mineral deposits in Ukraine, called "The Atlas of Mineral Deposits in Ukraine". This atlas is endorsed by President Leonid Kuchma, the President of Ukraine. Mr. Walter Stunder, the President of North Star Diamonds, Inc. assisted in the sponsorship of this atlas. Mr. Stunder states that "I am excited to continue my professional association with Prof. Galetsky, which began in the early stages of diamond exploration in Ukraine over ten years ago. Prof. Galetsky is a long time colleague and the addition of this leading expert in Ukrainian diamonds will greatly enhance all fundamentals of North Star Diamonds endeavors throughout Ukraine."
North Star Diamonds is a rapidly-growing company focused on the discovery of commercial diamond deposits in Ukraine. North Star Diamonds has exceptional land holdings and a highly skilled management and technical team respected for breaking new ground in the highly competitive diamond industry. The Company's shares trade on the OTC Pink Sheets under the symbol NSDM.
