Investment Highlights
-- The business plan is clear and focused
-- North Star looks to launch additional projects in the Ukraine
and Russia soon
-- A seasoned gemologist is on board
-- The Company recently commenced a new drilling Project on the
Novograd Volyn Project
North Star Diamonds, Inc. is a mining company focused on the discovery of diamond deposits. The Company currently has exceptional land holdings in Ukraine. In the past, previous Soviet governments had banned the search for diamonds but that has since changed. The Ukrainian government is opening up their land for diamond exploration and will allow North Star to joint venture with them as they explore and then develop the next major diamond discovery. North Star has a full, qualified technical staff of experienced Ukrainian diamond geologists directly supervised by North Star representatives to conduct the ongoing diamond exploration program.
As mentioned in the investment highlights, the Novograd Volyn Project is one of three advanced stage diamond projects currently under exploration by the company. This project is approximately one-million acres in size and is located in the northwest region of Ukraine. According to a recent press release by the company, it stated there has been extensive historical sampling, geophysical and seismic work completed on this project. Recent till samples has returned garnets, which have been analyzed to contain up to 11.8% Cr203. These high Cr203 sub-calcic garnets are often important diamond indicator minerals. More analysis of weight and distribution will be available soon.
Growth Opportunity
Diamonds have captured the imagination of people since they were first known to exist. The beauty of these gemstones has in this century manifested a highly profitable and stable industry. This profitable industry has been shielded in many ways from the uncertainties and price fluctuations that affect other commodities. The enormous profitability of a producing diamond mine provides a compelling argument for involvement in diamond exploration and investment in this segment of the market. Because the Soviet government has been so restrictive on exploration the potential in this area now is staggering. On a worldwide basis, African countries dominate diamond production, and Russia has remained involved albeit on a very selective basis. That area of the world could very well prove to be a hotbed for future discoveries.
The number of publicly traded companies involved only in diamond exploration is very limited. Purchasing shares in NSDM is an alternative to the direct purchase of diamonds. The potential for appreciation from current levels in the value of NSDM is a real possibility now. In Ukraine, there is a history of diamond cutting, polishing and marketing, as well as being home to some of the world's foremost diamond exploration geologists. NSDM uses state-of-the-art mineral recovery techniques, many of, which are unique, compared to other diamond exploration companies.
