- PR Newswire
BELLINGHAM, WA, Oct 8, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- North Star Diamonds, Inc. is pleased to report that the Company is scheduled to commence a ground magnetic geophysical survey on the Superior Craton Project, Manitoba Canada. The ground magnetic survey is expected to begin within the next 7 days and will take 10-14 days to complete.
In a News Release dated September 22, 2003 the Company reported it had acquired a 100% interest in strategically located mining claims within the Superior Craton in Canada. The Company's claim block (16,400 acres) is located in southeastern Manitoba where during the 1990's, positive diamond indicator minerals were discovered in the area by the Geological Survey of Canada. North Star staked a cluster of magnetic anomalies in proximity to these diamond indicators.
In a News Release dated September 24th the Company reported that a Phase 1 drill program was scheduled to commence before the end of October. A total of 12 high priority kimberlite targets, which are associated to a major north- south structure located at the western margin of the Superior Craton, are to be drill tested. Results from this upcoming ground magnetic survey will be critical in aiding and assisting the Company's diamond consultants to further define these 12 drill targets.
In other news, North Star's summer drill program in Ukraine is now complete. Drill core samples have now been shipped to a full service Ukrainian diamond laboratory for analysis. Analytical results are expected within the next 14-21 days and will be released immediately as they become available. The President of North Star, Mr. Walter Stunder plans to travel to Ukraine following his attendance at the "Rapaport Diamond Conference" upcoming in New York on October 20th.
In a News Release dated September 15, 2003, the Company announced it would initiate the Company's first mini-bulk sample of approximately 5 tons based on positive exploration results from fieldwork carried out on the Zubkovich area. The results from the drill core analysis from the summer program in Ukraine will assist the Company in the further definition of large diameter drill core locations for the planned mini-bulk sample program.
North Star Diamonds, Inc. is committed to a long-range plan for diamond exploration and feels that with the Superior Craton Project and the assets in Ukraine, North Star is focused on establishing the Company as a true world explorer in search for diamonds.
