Classic kimberlite magnetic signatures originate within North Star Diamonds Superior Craton Project
- PR Newswire
BELLINGHAM, WA, Oct 29, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- North Star Diamonds, Inc. (NQB Pink Sheets: NSDM) North Star Diamonds is pleased to report that the Company has formed a strategic relationship with Mr. Shaun Spelliscy to consult on the Superior Craton Project. Mr. Spelliscy brings to the Company over twelve years experience in the exploration and development of kimberlite pipes. To date, Mr. Spelliscy has been directly responsible for the discovery of four diamondiferous kimberlites.
In addition, Mr. Spelliscy has discovered diamonds in Brazil, and in 1995 he was instrumental in the acquisition and subsequent discovery of the "Star" Pipe. The "Star" kimberlite is one of Canada's largest (500 million tons) and is the most advanced exploration play in Saskatchewan. The Province of Saskatchewan borders Manitoba directly to the west.
North Star's Superior Craton Project has many similarities to the Star Pipe. These are: 1) the presence of classic kimberlite magnetic signatures, 2) abundant fresh, high quality diamond indicators that originated within the project area with a high probability of discovering diamond source rock, 3) the majority of the most prospective land in the project area has been claimed by North Star and 4) the project area has multi-element potential including gold and platinum.
North Star has also announced that total of 12 high priority magnetic anomalies, which are associated to a major north-south structure located at the western margin of the Superior Craton, are to be drill tested over the next few months. North Star Diamonds, Inc. is committed to a long-range plan for diamond exploration and feels that with the Superior Craton Project and the assets in Ukraine, North Star is focused on establishing the Company as a true world explorer in search for diamonds.
