VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 23, 1997--Consolidated Pine Ch (VSE:KPG.) Mr.Dale Hoffman, President of Consolidated Pine Channel Gold. Corp. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Company has been advised by Ing Porfirio Padilla- Lara, of Minera Cascabel S.A. de C.V., that title has been received for the Don David concession, southwest Chihuahua state, Mexico.
The Don David property, in which Consolidated Pine Channel Gold Corp. can earn a 100 percent interest, consists of 11,135 hectares. The claims are located 14 km due west of El Sauzal and just 10 km SE of Manhattan's Candamena discovery. Regional satellite imagery shows that significant NNE-SSW tectonic features which are part of or parallel to the Batapilas Lineament intersect a major NW-SE macro feature on the Don David claims, which also host two small currently operating gold mines and numerous historic workings. Gold Deposits of the World, by Emmons (1937) refers to Lluvia de Oro, a former producer of high grade gold and silver ores occurring in silica replacement lenses in fractured and faulted limestones overlying an intrusive diabase, which abuts Don David to the west. Batapilas itself was once a large producer of high grade silver.
Phase One of the exploration program will include a stream sediment sampling outlined from satellite interpretation. On the basis of the criteria from satellite imagery considered prospective for gold and/or base metals, 43 point locations, as well as stream sediment sampling sites, are at present being investigated.
In addition, work on the Consolidated Pine Channel - United Carina Resources joint venture Currie and Axis Lake project, as well as work on the Consolidated Pine Channel - JNR Resources Inc. joint venture in the Pine Channel area, Northern Mining District, Saskatchewan (North Athabasca project), is progressing favourably.
On the North Athabasca project, High-Sense Geophysics Limited have completed a low level helicopter survey over the area that the Company believes could be the source of the many high-grade gold, silver, lead and zinc showings in the area. Eleven untested anomalies in area have been selected from the airborne results. A field crew is currently on site, and investigation of these anomalies is underway.
The Company is well funded to carry out exploration on all its projects Results will be released as they become available. -0-
