10/21/2004 : Cohen heads west rested and ready for action LAS VEGAS, pre-race: CMKXtreme Pro Stock Suzuki rider Connie Cohen will try and pick up where she left off the last time she visited the west coast when she competes at this weekends fourth annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals, October 28-31, at 'The Strip' at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Cohen qualified for her only NHRA event of the season at Sonoma in July and her husband and crew chief Marc Cohen have been working overtime since then to try and get the CMKX Suzuki to perform consistently. It has been an uphill struggle but the CMKX team has continued to make progress with their consistency and they're hopeful of finishing the year on an upbeat note.
"We're continuing to do the best we can with CMKXtreme Suzuki," said Cohen, "but at this level you need to be at the top of your game with all the latest technology or you'll be passed by. Our goal is to strengthen our racing program significantly during the off-season, and with the help of Ron Casavant and CMKX Racing we plan on fielding a state-of-the-art Pro Stock Bike in 2005. Until then we'll do our best representing CMKX as we try and win a few rounds to build up some momentum going into the 2005 season.
Cohen and CMKX teammates, Jeff Arend and Tony Bartone will visit Sunrise Children's Hospital on Thursday, October 28, from 2-4 PM. The threesome will sign autographs, pose for photos and hand out CMKX merchandise to children and their parents.
