UPLAND, California -- Lee Hatch driver of the No. 91 CMKXtreme.com/Go Fast Sports ASA Speed Truck claimed the victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway's Bullring Saturday night.
Hatch qualified fourth and kept his starting position after the roll of the die. Hatch remained in the top five throughout the 75-lap main event working his way patiently through the field to take over the lead. On the final lap Hatch made the move for the win going in Turn 3 making for an exciting side-by-side finish along with the No. 66 of Alex Haas. After the two crossed the finish line, timing posted Hatch as the winner with a 15 thousandths of a second win over Hass. This is the closest margin of victory in the nine year history (10th racing season) of the ASA Speed Truck Challenge.
"It feels great to get a win here in Las Vegas," said Hatch. "This is the hometown of my sponsors CMKXtreme.com and Go Fast Sports. I really had to work hard for this one tonight. The truck wasn't all that good in the first half of the race, but I stuck with it searching for a line that worked. Everything came together the second half of the race. I have to thank my crew and my spotter, I kept them busy tonight. I had a lot fun for the final battle at the end with Alex. This was a great point's night for the No. 91 team, I'm very happy to get this win."
After the fourth race contested of the season Hatch has moved into second place in the championship point's battle.
Saturday's race will be broadcasted on the Outdoor Channel on Saturday, August 13 at 8 p.m. PST.
The BHRM Motorsports team sponsored by CMKXtreme.com, Go Fast Sports, Wentzell Equipment Rental, Faust Printing, Parker Pumper and PTP Motorsports will travel to Mesa Marin Raceway in Bakersfield on May 28.
