NEWS RELEASE
TOLDYASO PROPERTY
Golden Arch acquires new Porphyry Copper Prospect
July 5, 2005 – As previously announced, Golden Arch Resources Ltd. (GAI: TSX Venture) has acquired 61 contiguous mineral claims, known as the Toldyaso Property, in Cochise County Arizona , in the Mine Canyon area.
The Toldyaso Property is underlain by a Late Cretaceous (approx. 74 m.y.) to early Tertiary mineralized intrusive, porphyritic complex. An outcropping area of copper-molybdenum mineralization lies within a Tertiary quartz-monzonite porphyry which cuts a Cretaceous granodioritic stock.
Three adits have been developed in this area, (probably prior to 1940) on high grade copper (greater than 2.0%) showings in outcrop. More recently, (1978 approximately) 5600 feet of core from five holes were drilled on the property by Duval Corp. Four of the five holes intersected sections of copper-molybdenum mineralization in quartz monzonite porphyry which assayed from 0.24% copper over approximately 50 meters true thickness (DDH – 3), to approximately 105 meters true thickness (DDH -2) of 0.34% copper. All the holes were very slightly (averaging 90 ppm) mineralized with molybdenum.
The surface exposed mineralization covers an area of at least 1 kilometer by 0.5 kilometer, but geological mapping and airborne geophysics suggest the mineralization and the favourable rock types could extend much farther. The drilling indicates that the mineralized zone, as well as the favourable rocks are expanding with depth.
The Toldyaso Property has the right rock-type, mineralization, and alteration indicators that are found in copper porphyry deposits of this type. Golden Arch’s management is extremely pleased to add this prospective porphyry – copper property to our exploration portfolio. Arizona has been and continues to be the major copper producing area in North America.
The Toldyaso Property has been visited and pertinent data has been reviewed by R.D. Somerville, P.Eng., a Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101.
